I started working with Linux in 2002 during my undergrad at SUNY Potsdam. Ever since it’s been hard to separate Linux from my life. I’ve mainly spent my professional career working for Higher Education as a Linux Systems Administrator. I really admire the open source development model and have made a few contributions to upstream projects that I’ve used in my professional life. I currently work at the University of Vermont as a Senior Linux Systems Administrator primarily focused on Red Hat Enterprise Linux systems.<\/p>\n
In my personal life I value the feeling of being self-propelled through the natural environment; I’m at home running a trail, climbing steep rock, and running up then skiing down snow-covered slopes. At this point in my life it’s hard to imagine separating these things from the person that I am. As I’ve become older I’ve also garnered a stronger desire to give back to the communities that have been so instrumental in building the person I am. In 2014 I started working on anchor replacements in the Bolton Valley area of Vermont. To date I’ve replaced over 150 bolts and developed both physical and technological tools to aid in this project.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
